The IPSS offers a range of psychotherapy training and academic courses.
A one-term Introduction to the Theory & Practice of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy.
IPSS offers two four-year training courses, leading to IPSS diplomas, and simultaneous Masters degrees, awarded by the London Metropolitan University.
The IPSS diploma course in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy and Social Studies is accredited by London Metropolitan University as an MA level course. Successful completion of the IPSS diploma course therefore leads to two qualifications simultaneously: the diploma and the MA. The diploma is recognised by the United Kingdom for Psychotherapy (UKCP), so that holding this diploma leads to becoming a registered member of the Psychoanalytic and Psychodynamic Section of the UKCP, as defined and audited by the Section.
The non-clinical MA is an academic, theoretical course. It is designed for those trainees who choose not to pursue a clinical career, but opt to study methodology with view to pursuing an academic career with a research focus.
See the Psychotherapy Diploma/MA page for full details of these courses.
Please note, these are not correspondence courses, and cannot be conducted via post or email.
